Seedream 5 Lite Image to Image Editing
Edit photos and illustrations with Seedream 5 Lite using image-to-image controls. Change style, materials, background, composition, and color while preserving key scene details.
About this model
Model for text-to-image and image-to-image work when you need detailed visuals, strong prompt understanding, example-based edits, and support for multiple references.
When is this model useful?
Seedream 5 Lite works best when you need more than a pretty image. It is a good fit when you want to explain the idea in natural language and still get a controlled result.
Best fit tasks
- Text-to-image generation for ads, social content, moodboards, concept art, illustrations, and product scenes.
- Image-to-image edits when you need to change style, materials, background, color palette, or composition without manual retouching.
- Multi-reference workflows where character identity, product details, or brand style need to stay more consistent.
- Images that involve logic, spatial relationships, or visible text such as posters, packaging, UI mockups, menus, and signs.
Main advantages
- It handles more complex prompts than basic generators, including spatial logic, process details, and object relationships.
- It supports example-based editing, so you can show the kind of transformation you want instead of describing everything in abstract words.
- It works for brand new images, edits to existing images, and blended outputs from up to 14 references.
- It supports 2K and 3K output with multiple aspect ratios, which makes it useful for landing pages, ecommerce, vertical creatives, and presentation work.
Limitations to know
- It generates still images, not video or animation.
- To get precise results, prompts and references still need to be specific. Vague instructions lead to more generic styling.
- Sequential image generation is a smart related-series mode, not a rigid storyboard tool with guaranteed frame-by-frame continuity.
- Even strong models may need extra iterations for tiny text, hands, dense typography, or highly specialized visual details.
How to use this model
The best workflow is simple: describe the outcome first, then add only the settings that materially improve the result.
Simple workflow
- Write the prompt in plain language: what is in the image, where the scene happens, the style, lighting, camera angle, materials, mood, and what should stay in focus.
- For text-to-image, choose aspect ratio and size. 1:1 works well for square posts, 16:9 for banners, and 9:16 for stories and vertical ads.
- For image-to-image, upload one or more reference images. They help the model follow the style, subject, or composition you want.
- If you want a related series, enable Sequential image generation and set Max images. In simple terms, this lets the model produce several connected results instead of just one image.
- Choose PNG when you want the cleanest quality, or JPEG when smaller file size matters more.
Supported inputs
- Required: a text prompt.
- Optional: 1 to 14 reference images for image-to-image, multi-reference generation, and example-based editing.
- In the AISVIT upload flow, standard image formats such as JPG, PNG, and WEBP are the safest choice.
- For controlled editing, clearer source images with less compression usually work better.
What you get
- One or multiple generated images depending on the sequential generation mode.
- PNG or JPEG output.
- 2K or 3K resolution.
- Supported aspect ratios: 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 16:9, 9:16, 3:2, 2:3, 21:9, or automatic matching to the input image.
